Citizens Alley offers outdoor ice skating in downtown Minot at one of the city’s newest rinks. Built-in refrigeration keeps the ice ready through mild winter temperatures for skaters of all ages and skill levels.

SKATE RENTALS

How It Works

We don't think that you should be limited to only using the ice rink if you have skates, so on designated days, you'll be able to rent skates to use for one (1) hour at Citizens Alley Ice Rink.

Cost

Skate rentals are $5 for one (1) hour of use. Skates must be used onsite!

Times are weather dependent and may change for private bookings or community events. Check out the Events Calendar to be sure!

PRIVATE GROUPS

Enjoy the Citizens Alley Ice Rink all to yourselves for one hour of private leisure skating. It’s a relaxed, fun way to gather with friends, coworkers, or classmates and enjoy time on the ice together.

Each private skating experience includes skate rentals for up to 20 guests, with the option to add additional skate rentals for groups of up to 40 people at $5 per pair. $200 + fees ($218.64 total). To check into your preferred date, e-mail us at hello@localmotivesminot.org.

These guidelines help keep the ice safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for skating with care.

Skate Smart

Skate at your own risk. By skating, you accept the inherent risks of the activity.
Citizens Alley is not responsible for injuries on or off the ice.
Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Always skate in control and maintain a safe speed and distance.
Skaters who act unsafely or disrupt others may be asked to leave the ice to keep everyone safe.

On The Ice

Skate only in designated areas.
Do not carry children while wearing skates.
No sitting or leaning on the boards.
Stay off the ice during resurfacing, cleaning, or maintenance.
Pusher bars are for beginner use only.
Do not walk on non-matted surfaces unless you are wearing skate guards.

For Everyone's Safety

The following items are not permitted on the ice:

Hockey sticks or pucks
(Exception: mite-age or younger during scheduled events coordinated with Minot Hockey Boosters)
Street shoes
Food, drinks, or chewing gum
Cell phones, headphones, or other electronic devices
Pets

Follow all staff instructions at all times.

ICE BUMPER CARS

Spin the Alley

Minot’s newest attraction brings amusement park-style fun to downtown Minot. Citizens Alley’s ice bumper cars deliver a safe, high-energy winter activity for families and groups all season long.

HOW IT WORKS

Rider Guidelines

Ages 6 and up must ride solo.
Ages 2–5 may ride with an adult.
Seatbelts must be worn by all riders.
Riders must keep hands, legs, and feet inside the car at all times.
Maximum combined rider weight: 300 lbs per car.
All riders must sign a waiver.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled ride.

Cost

Each 12-minute Ice Bumper Car ride is $12 + fees (total $13.41).

IBC Schedule & Availability

Ice Bumper Cars typically run on weekends and select days.
Availability depends on weather conditions.

Booking opens the week of your ride.

WHY BOOKING OPENS WEEK OF?

Our rink is outdoors and not heated. To keep riders safe and equipment protected, we wait until the week of each session to open booking so we can use the most accurate weather forecasts and avoid cancellations or rescheduling.

PRIVATE GROUPS

Looking to bring your group to the ice bumper cars?

Private bookings are available for birthdays, youth groups, team outings, and other gatherings. It’s a fun, memorable way to play, laugh, and enjoy the rink together. Each private session includes exclusive access to all 8 bumper cars for a full 25-minute ride, accommodating up to 20 riders who can rotate in and out. $250 + fees ($273.22 total). We can also coordinate concessions or a la carte party options with Prairie Sky Breads to make the experience extra special.
